I shot at the Utica zoo today. Having never been there before I was unsure of what to expect. I had heard all the stories about the zoo including "why would you go there ? they have 3 birds and a German Shepard they try to pass off as a wolf" (from people who have apparently never been there before). But upon my arrival I was surprised as to all the animals there anxious and waiting for a few seconds of attention of a equally excited child.

i just thought this story was really funny. more hilarious than just simply funny though...

Photographers journal: following Obama
I loved this video because it goes along with what our big project will be, and the photo's are just outstanding. When it comes to political matters I'm not the first one on the band wagon, but this is a current event, a huge one at that obviously, and so i clicked on it. The photographer followed Obama on his campaign and took tons of photos, not just of him, but of course the audiences and even security that he had. It was also great because it's from the photographers point of view, very interesting check it out.

I know it had video but i think the audio clip was as powerful as the photos. I listened to it without watching the photos and it was still able to keep me listening. I think of the photographers voice as calm and nice to listen to and he is descriptive and interesting.

^^ that's the link to the multimedia audio-slide show talking about the second week of the New York Film Festival. I'm a big movie fan and watch a lot of movies and also work in a video store. I found this slide show to be very interesting and insightful about the film festival that brings about some awesome movies.

Cayo Industrial
This is not only a link, but a plug. Personally, I think everyone should go to this this year. I'm going at least a few times, so if anyone wants to go, let me know.
Anyway, the entire site is a media marvel. It's got amazing audio and visual, and really immerses the viewer.

Homeless iraqi war veteran addicted to meth to dull pain
After returning home from Iraq alive but injured Staff Sergeant Michael Hall had to find a way to deal with the horrors of war that he had witnessed first hand. Hall watched many friends and members of his troops massacred while only suffering from a back injury. Instead of seeking help in many of the services offered to him through the military such as free counseling Hall decided to start using and eventually dealing methamphetamines. Do we offer the people who put their own life on the line to serve for our country every possible asset at the governments disposal or are we simply saying "thanks for your time, and good luck to you" ? I couldn't figure out how to put the actual audio clip up so here's the link. I like this audio clip because its pretty crisp and I like the way the speaking and the music blends in some points.
